Vortex Fountains

My journey making vortex fountains was born out of a desire to incorporate sculptural water elements into the main altar of Nature's NEST. After experimenting for a while with this style of fountain and getting great responses from friends & family, I decided to open up a shop on Etsy and offer custom hand-made vortex fountains to anyone interested. My designs have been refined over many iterations. I've searched to bring together and modify a long list of components that are just the right shape and size. Then, I craft those components into a fountain that creates an optimally sized vortex wrapped up in a 100% aesthetically pleasing package. Nature's N.E.S.T. (2015 - 2018)

The New Earth Sacred Temple (N.E.S.T.) is located on Double JJ Ranch in Rothbury, MI and is one of the largest free-standing woven tree structures in North America. The foundation of the structure was laid in 2011 by Nate Hogen and Chris Amaturo, then I joined the project later in 2015 and each year it continues to grow. Aside from a handful of screws that hold in the tallest "branches", which reach roughly 25 feet high, the entire structure is held together by only the tension of the weave between the trees. The N.E.S.T. comes to life each year as part of Reincarnation Village at Electric Forest Festival. Floral arrangements were created in collaboration with Osirian Flora Design. Funding was provided by Synergy Event Productions (owners of several images below).

Lucidity Festival 2018

A network of twelve (12) fountains running in sync from a single pump. Constructed from bamboo (except the pump box) and held together by rope bindings. The pond for the well was surrounded by a 10 ft diameter decagon, then decorated with signs prompting reflection and local wood woven into a nest around the base. The well was illuminated at night around the outside by white lights and color changing lights in the water. Ida Resi Alit, the only High Priestess of Bali, held a water blessing ceremony at this space during its 72 hour existence.
